The Curb

THE CURB, in their current incarnation, have been together for about six months. Although their wide range of influences make them a difficult band to categorise, their combination of great tunes and an energetic stage show make them one of the best bands on the Wirral. The Curb's fusion of rock/ ska/ funk and indie, built upon the airtight rhythm section of STOO CLARKE (drums) and IAIN HUMPHRIES (bass), gives lead singer and songsmith MART WALKER the perfect platform for his infectious melodies and lyrical musings. Add to this the brothers FOWLDS: JONNY is the Curb's latest recruit, bringing with him a hugely powerful voice, sweet harmonies and dynamic rhythm guitar playing; the searing lead guitar work is supplied by elder sibling STEVE, whose disjointed, yet melodic, style takes the songs in unexpected directions. The Curb's recent gigs include: The Picket (Liverpool); The Iron Door Club; and Stairways (Birkenhead). Their debut 4-track EP "Xperience" goes on sale in August.
