It Just Is', Steve Roberts first solo album was released in Summer 2001. Co-produced by Martyn Campbell (Lightning Seeds), this acoustic driven mix of instruments and textures was subsequently nominated for the Mercury Music Award. Since then Steve has recorded radio sessions for Janice Long on Radio Two; íCeltic Connectionsí and Iain Anderson on Radio Scotland; for ëOn the Beatí and Roger Lyon on Radio Merseyside. Touring with American songwriter Bob Cheevers and an appearance at The Edinburgh Festival have kept him busy. Previously with the Liverpool band 16 Tambourines whose album (Arista), 'How Green is your Valley?' was highly praised, Steve has also played with Ron Sexsmith, Glenn Tilbrook, lan McNabb and Martin Stephenson among others. Steve is featured on the album "Moon Over the Downs" (Super Tiny Records), a collection of American and British song writers. The album was released in July 2003. Steve is accompanied by Robbie Taylor on fiddle and mandelin who was playing working men's clubs at 13 and was Irelandís under fifteen Bodhran Drum Champion.
